Dryer vent cleaning
Dryer vents
This part covers how often to clean, how long it takes, the warning signs, the fire risk and what the local climate does to a vent.
How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?
At least once a year, and sooner for a big household or a dryer that runs most days. The damp Gulf Coast air makes lint cling and pack inside the pipe, and a vent that climbs from an inside laundry closet to the roof gives it more room to settle. If yours has never been cleaned, do not wait for a date on the calendar.
How long does a dryer vent cleaning take?
Most take 1 to 3 hours, depending on the length of the vent and how much has built up. A vent cleaned every year stays at the quick end, because there is less to take out each time.
How can I tell the vent needs cleaning?
Watch for six things: loads that need a second cycle, a dryer or laundry room that gets very hot, a burning smell, lint around the outside hood, a flap that stays shut while the dryer runs, and a lint screen that fills faster than it used to. Any one is a reason to call. The dryer vent page explains each one.
Can a clogged vent actually start a fire?
Yes. The U.S. Fire Administration estimates that 2,900 residential clothes-dryer fires are reported every year, and it names failure to clean as the leading factor, behind 34% of them. Lint burns easily, and dryer fires peak in fall and winter.
Why do vents clog faster in west Pasco?
There are three reasons. Humidity keeps lint damp, so it sticks along the pipe instead of blowing out. Many homes keep the laundry in an inside closet or the garage, so the vent runs a long way through the attic with bends that catch lint. And an outside flap that jams slows everything. Put together, they are why once a year is the rule here.
Do you clean dryer vents for businesses?
Yes, for homes and businesses across west Pasco County. A salon, laundromat, restaurant or office with a dryer faces the same lint, only faster. The work covers the whole vent from the dryer to the outside, and the quote is free.

Air duct cleaning
Air ducts
This part covers how often to clean, what happens during a visit and how long it takes.
How often should air ducts be cleaned?
Every 3 to 5 years for most homes and businesses, and sooner with pets, allergies or dust you can see at the registers. In between, watch the registers. Grey dust on the grilles means it is time to call.
What equipment do you use?
High-efficiency vacuums and rotary tools made for the inside of a duct. They clean the supply and return runs thoroughly without tearing or crushing them. See air duct cleaning for the full visit.
What happens before the cleaning starts?
The technician looks at the system first: the ducts, the registers and how each run can be reached. You hear what will be cleaned and what it costs, and nothing starts until you agree.
How long does it take?
Usually 1 to 3 hours, depending on the size of the system. More runs and more registers take longer. A duct replacement is a different job and takes a full day or more.
Is it safe for people with allergies or asthma?
Yes. The point of the cleaning is to take dust, pollen, mold spores and other irritants out of the ducts so they are not blown back into the rooms. Keep changing the filter on schedule afterwards.

What changes a quote, whatever the job
Where the vent or duct goes
A dryer vent from an inside closet up to the roof takes longer than a short one through an outside wall. For a replacement, the length of failed ductwork sets the day.
How much has built up
A vent cleaned every year is quick. One that has never been cleaned, or ducts with dust piled at the registers, take longer.
Size and access
For air ducts, the number of runs and registers sets the time, and the attic sets how easy each is to reach. Both are checked before you get a price.
Replacement, pricing and scheduling
Replacement and booking
This part covers when cleaning is not enough, how long a replacement takes, what changes the price, where we go and how to book.
When do ducts need replacing instead of cleaning?
When the duct itself is damaged. Cleaning takes dust and lint out of ducts that are sound. Replacement is for ducts that leak, are crushed or have worn out, or are past about 15 years. It starts with a full inspection, and if cleaning will do, we say so.
How long does a replacement take?
A full day or more, depending on how much of the system is replaced. The inspection comes first, so you know the scope and the time before you commit.
What does it cost, and is the quote free?
The quote is free for all three services and you are not committed. We do not post prices because every job differs. The length and route of the vent, how much has built up, the size of the duct system and how easy it is to reach all change the number.
